About the collection :

Inspired by the Gond tribal art tradition of Madhya Pradesh.

Gond art originates from the Gond tribe — one of the largest tribal communities in central India, primarily from Madhya Pradesh. The word “Gond” itself comes from the Dravidian word Kond, meaning green mountains, which reflects the tribe’s deep connection to their forested homeland.

The art form began as wall paintings and floor art, created as part of rituals and seasonal celebrations. Over time it moved from walls to paper, canvas, and cloth — but the spirit stayed the same. Gond art is a celebration of nature. It documents the relationship between humans, animals, and plants through intricate patterned motifs, mythological creatures, and the belief that every living thing carries a spirit worth honoring.

What makes Gond art visually distinct is its patterning — every motif, every animal, every leaf is filled with smaller repeated patterns: dots, lines, scales, and geometric shapes. Nothing is left empty. The art breathes.

Echoes of Gond is Cloy’s reinterpretation of this tradition into four wearable pieces — each one carrying a different emotion, a different story from within the Gond world.

Design Description:

The tiger is the anchor piece of the collection. Drawn in classic Gond art style — a body filled with scale patterns, surrounded by branches and leaves — the tiger hangs from a tree, watching. Not hunting. Just a present.

In Gond tradition, the tiger is not a threat. He is a guardian. An elder of the forest. Veer captures that quiet confidence — a creature that knows exactly where it belongs.

The black colorway makes the print hit harder. Same animal, different world. Nocturnal, mythic, certain.
