Imagine a group of people coming together for a sports activity, creative workshop, college event, or community gathering. Different backgrounds. Different personalities. Distinct ways of dressing.

Once everyone starts participating, those differences become less important than the experience they are sharing. This is where Cloy sees clothing differently: not solely as fabric to wear, but as an open canvas to start a conversation, challenge quiet assumptions, and make space for people to be themselves.

“Sometimes, what you wear can quietly say: I belong here too.”

Why We Talk About Social Activities Through Clothing

Social activities naturally bring people together, but stereotypes can still follow us into those shared spaces. Who is expected to play football? Who is expected to dance? Who is expected to speak up, and who is quietly expected to blend into the background?

At Cloy, we explore these questions through something that is already woven into our everyday lives — clothing. Rather than treating social awareness as something detached from design or confined to theory, we want our silhouettes to quietly carry the conversation into the streets.

We don't believe fashion needs to shout. Very often, a thoughtful, disciplined design is enough to make an invisible boundary visible.

Our Feminism Hoodie: An Idea You Can Wear

One tangible example is our feminism-inspired hoodie. The purpose was never simply to place the word feminism on cotton. It is about translating core principles of equality, self-assurance, and freedom into something people can actually live in and interpret on their own terms.

A girl can wear it. A boy can wear it. Anyone who connects with freedom can wear it.

Because conversations about gender shouldn't belong to only one gender.

Clothing creates a common ground where everyone feels invited to participate without needing permission. A piece of clothing travels with its wearer — to a university lecture, a studio session, a weekend meetup, or a quiet walk through the city.

Making Space for Everyone

For Cloy, inclusivity means crafting pieces that refuse to force people into narrow boxes. That is why our creative process centers around unisex proportions and versatile, effortless cuts. The feminism hoodie isn't restricted by gender; the garment carries the foundational thought, but the individual gives it its voice.

Discussions around equality, bodily identity, and social rights are increasingly visible, yet expectations and prejudices still influence how people show up in the world. Cloy doesn't believe that a hoodie or a shirt can dismantle centuries of stereotypes alone.

But clothing can make conversations visible. It can help someone express what they believe in, give someone beside them a sense of representation, or simply make another person curious. And very often, an honest conversation is where lasting participation begins.
